Welcome to Pack 165!

Welcome to Pack 165's website.  This is where we keep our members up to date with all of our happenings.  We are always looking for members to join.

Our scouts have a lot of fun while camping, swimming, hiking, doing fundraisers and community service projects.  Scouting is a great way for your son to learn the value of citizenship, service, physical and mental fitness and leadership.   Our scouts consist of boys from Wellington Elementary and New Horizons Elementary Schools and we welcome those from any other school as well.  Our meetings are held at Wellington Elementary School monthly.  Use the "Contact Us" link on the left hand side to find out more information about our pack and when our meetings are held.

Camp Cards are here!!!

Posted on Jan 25 2015 - 8:55am

Our annual Camp Card fundraiser is back!  We have new cards this year, it is a foldable pack (no longer the plastic card) of coupons that costs $5.00 and includes coupons for:

Lion Country Safari, Panda Express, Roger Dean Stadium games, Friendly's, Big Apple Pizza, KFC, Tijuana Flats, Tire Kingdoom, Bass Pro Shops, Sports Authority and Famous Footwear.

Some of you may have noticed one store not mentioned, there are no Publix coupons this year.  It should still be an easy sell, there is over $100 worth of coupons for just $5.00!  Our goal is to sell 300 cards.  Each scout will earn $1.00 for every card they sell.

Your den leaders will be handing these out as soon as I can get these to them.  I will also have them availble at our Pinewood Derby Clinic and next pack meeting.

Pinewood Derby & Clinic

Posted on Jan 18 2015 - 10:39am

It's coming upon that time of year again!!  Our annual Pinewood Derby will be held on Saturday March 7th at 2:00 PM at Loxahatchee Groves park.  Everyone should have received their Pinewood Derby kits.  If you have not contact your den leader. this is a fun event where scouts shape a block of wood into a car and race them down a track.  Official rules:   https://drive.google.com/viewerng/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGVmYXVsdGRvbWFpbnxldmVyZ2xhZGVzZGlzdHJpY3R8Z3g6NzIzZGM0NDE5ZTNkY2QyNg

We will also be holding a Pinewood Derby Clinic on February 7th from 10AM - 3PM at Loxahatchee Groves park, this is a drop in event, come at any time, there will be tools available so that that you can shape/design your car.  We will have the Pinewood Derby Track (except for the timer) set up so that you can test your car.  We will also have our official scale there so you can weigh your car.

Requirements - you bring your derby set (will have extras there if you did not receive one), any design materials you want to use (paints, stickers, etc), weights and..if you have tools you want to share, please bring it (table saw, band saw, drills, power strip, sand paper, glue, etc.)

We will have at least 1 band saw there, a power strip, extension cord

By the next school year, all our key leaders (Committee Chair, Cubmaster, Treasurer and Charter Organization Rep) will be moving on to Boy Scouts.  Therefore, we are seeking people interested in these positions now so that we can train you throughout the year so once transition time comes, it will be seamless.

Please contact David Taylor or Christine Grant if you are interested.
